Paula: Oceans 14
I just CAN’T get away from spiritual significances oceanfront. Two weeks ago, the expansiveness of the ocean reminded me of what big things God wants to do and can do! Last week, I was reminded of how participating in this expansiveness can knock me off my feet if I can’t take it! This week, in my Growth Group at church, which by the way is the bomb.com! We are doing “Forgotten God” by Francis Chan and it’s great! Bonding with new friends and studying God’s word together is where it’s at!
Okay…so I got off topic. This week, someone in group, AKA Joanie, told us the story of the sea turtle and how they basically are becoming extinct because they are hatched outside of the ocean and they have to crawl back to the ocean to live. If they don’t die on their way back, once the waves hit their 3 in. body or a fish decides they want turtle soup, it’s over. The percentages of baby sea turtles that make it is NOT good. 90% of hatchlings are eaten by predators. The 10% that make it have a lifespan of 80 years. WOE! WOE!
Here we go again…the spiritual significances of the ocean. The expansiveness of God. Experiencing the exhilaration and pleasure of riding the powerful waves. Surviving the threat of predators who want to eat me!
Jeremiah 29:11 - ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’
I’m in!
