JASON: Roots (Part 1) - Worship
John 4:23 says that “God is looking for worshippers who will worship him in spirit and truth.” Not just emotion (spirit), but authenticity (truth) is how God takes his worship. That means God is looking for, hunting down real worshippers. Authentic worship attracts God.
Have you ever felt like God has gone missing? Maybe you’re there. Your Godscape is like the desert without an oasis. You waiver between hating him and hungering for him. You cry for him, and you scream at him. So what is God doing?
What is God doing? God is looking for you. He is looking for your worship. Read John 4:23 again. God is looking for, seeking out your worship.
Could it be that the desert is designed to be your own personal concert hall? Could it be that God is just looking for you to worship on the stage of the desert? Not the fake stuff. But the authentic stuff. The real deal. Let it be a worship that says, “God, I love you anyway. You’ve got my heart anyway. I hate what you’ve allowed to happen, but I love you, I worship you anyway.”
Go ahead. You’ve got a concert hall. Worship him. That’s where you’ll find the missing God. Check that. That’s where he’ll find you.
